Marine life identifier and self-proclaimed “fish geek” Jonathan Lavan is prepping for some more great Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF) online lectures! On March 21 at 8 p.m. EST you can experience Triggers and Files: The ID Tools of the Trade; Top 12 Trigger and Filefish of the Greater Caribbean. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain some “power tools” when identifying trigger and filefish. A second lecture, held on April 11 at 8 p.m. EST will display “a hard act to swallow”: the top 12 puffer and boxfish of the Caribbean. Although both “fishinars” are free to attend, you must register in advance, join REEF, and log in at least five to ten minutes prior to the lecture. Feeling overwhelmed against Lavan’s knowledge of aquatic critters? Special “cheat sheets” will be provided on REEF’s website.
